The David Smith Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the memory of Dave Smith who for 37 years served as a teacher, counselor, coach and administrator in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
In an effort to blend his love of education in support of his two alma maters, North Hollywood High School and California State University Northridge, the fund will support scholarships for graduates of North Hollywood High School who are continuing their education at Cal State Northridge.
Dave is survived by his wife, Sharon, and three children; Lisa Jessop and husband Brian, Shellie Hadvina and husband Rich, and Greg Smith and wife Kayla; along with 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Dave’s commitment to students and the pursuit of education will be memorialized through the recipient of this scholarship.
