Fuel the Hustle. Build the Dream.
The CSUN Baseball team competes in the highly competitive Big West where the Matadors have reached 30 victories in three of the last four seasons. In 2025, CSUN played home night games for the first time in its 67-year baseball history. CSUN played more than half of their home schedule under the newly installed lights, bringing fans a vastly difference experience to Matador baseball games.
Our goal at CSUN is to provide our players the best student-athlete experience possible while achieving a quality college education.
When you support CSUN Baseball, your gift will go to the Marty Bowen Fund. Marty Bowen played as a Marty Bowen was a three-year starter for the Matadors (2010-12) and earned All-Big West Conference accolades as a sophomore in 2011. A beloved teammate, known affectionately as “The Big Cat,” Bowen competed in 132 games for the Matadors over three years. As both a catcher and first baseman, he had a .281 career batting average with 13 doubles, four home runs, and 49 runs batted in. Sadly, Bowen passed too soon in 2014.
At the start of 2022, CSUN Baseball alum Bryan Longpre pledged to create the Marty Bowen Baseball Fund to honor his late friend and former teammate and ensure the program feels the impact of Bowen’s legacy. All donations to the Marty Bowen Baseball Fund go directly to support student-athlete scholarships, baseball operations, funding state-of-the-art equipment and transformational infrastructure improvements.
