CSUN's "15 Days of Fame" Employee Giving Campaign

As a CSUN employee, you already devote your time and energy to supporting student success on campus. By donating to the 15 Days of Fame Employee Giving Campaign, you can make an even greater impact by supporting programs that elevate CSUN students.

With your donation, you get the opportunity to name a spot on campus. The duck pond, a pillar of the Oviatt Library, a copying machine — there are so many choices. We’ll put a sign up with your name on it in that area for 15 days, making you CSUN famous and recognizing you for your donation.

Where Your Dollars Go

As part of this year’s campaign, your donation — unless otherwise designated — will send incoming freshmen to Camp Matador — a unique environment where students will gain the foundational skills to succeed at CSUN prior to taking their first classes at the university.

Camp Matador welcomes and initiates incoming freshman, many the first in their family to attend college, into CSUN and university life. The purpose of the program, located in Big Bear, CA, is to give students a head start on what to expect for the educational journey that awaits them at a fun camp setting prior to starting classes at CSUN. Students have the opportunity to interact with one another, build relationships and gain knowledge about CSUN and succeeding at the university.

Current CSUN students serve as counselors and facilitators, leading the activities and groups throughout the weekend. Every counselor and facilitator has valuable personal experience, so they can offer advice about classes, clubs and organizations, and anything else students have questions about.

The $165 camp registration fee makes this experience unavailable for many families already struggling to manage tuition, books and other financial obligations at the start of the semester. With your support, together we can send more students to Camp Matador!
