Communities United to End Domestic Violence

UPDATE: HELP US MEET THE CHALLENGE! Your gift will be matched if you donate today!

Did you know that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men have experienced severe physical violence from a partner in their lifetimes? Survivors of Domestic Violence experience not only physical injuries, but also financial hardship, mental health issues, and chronic lifetime health problems. Children, teens, the elderly, People of Color, and the LGBTQIA+ community are especially vulnerable to these adverse impacts. We can work together to end this violence and support Survivors in our community.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and StrengthUnited is hosting online activities and programming throughout the month. Visit to see our full event schedule and register. We are bringing the community together to take a stand against Domestic Violence and promote community connection. Our series of online discussions and activities will engage people in conversation and empower agents of change, with special focus on vulnerable populations.

During the current Coronavirus crisis, difficult circumstances have become even more challenging for families. Each year, right here in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys, StrengthUnited serves over 1,500 individuals and their families coping with both the immediate and long-term effects of Domestic Violence, and StrengthUnited has had a 41% increase in urgent calls for help with Domestic Violence incidents. Our 24/7 Crisis Hotline and crisis response services have remained fully operational, while our prevention and education efforts prevent domestic violence and child maltreatment by addressing these problems at their root.

Only with your support can we provide these critical services and prevention efforts. Please make your contribution to StrengthUnited today, join us for our DVAM events, and visit to learn more about our work.
