Thank you for helping us exceed our goal!

March 29, 2021

The CSUN Alumni Association Board would like to thank all of the generous Matadors and friends of CSUN who donated to our 2021 Matador Hearts for Matador Minds alumni scholarship campaign. Through your generosity, we have raised over $205,000.

In large part, the success of this campaign can be attributed to small and large donors alike who recognized the special circumstances brought to students by the pandemic and wanted to step up to help. We are very proud of the Alumni and CSUN supporters who welcomed this responsibility to give back to those who follow. We have assured, now more than ever, that many of our scholarships will be there in perpetuity for the generations of Matadors who will become future CSUN alumni.

The giving does not need to end with this campaign. Donations to individually designated scholarships or to the collective fund can be made at any time by visiting engage.csun.edu.

We in the Alumni Association Board are grateful for the participation of so many of our fellow Alumni and supporters of CSUN.

Thank you from our Hearts!

On behalf of the CSUN Alumni Board of Directors

We’re almost to our goal!

March 22, 2021

Dear CSUN Alumni Family and Friends,

Six weeks ago we launched this campaign with the thought that - with your help - we would attempt to raise $175,000 to provide scholarship support to CSUN students. Well, we are now in the final week of this effort, and we are close to reaching $200,000! On behalf of the CSUN Alumni Board, I would like to thank the generous donors who gave to this campaign in support of Matador students.

We are now in the final days, and we are so close to hitting our impressive stretch goal. That is why we are asking for your help to push us past the finish line by sharing this effort with your networks. Together, we can hit our $200,000 goal, and maybe even surpass it!

The success of this campaign is because of people like you with big hearts who so recognized the need. We are grateful for your generosity, and we hope to continue to appeal to those who can help us make an even bigger impact on CSUN students.

In Matador Spirit,

Cherry Henricks

Scholarship Committee Chair

Help us reach our goal and make an even BIGGER impact on CSUN students

March 05, 2021

Thanks to the support of the Matador community, and the generosity of Project GRAD LA, CSUN Alumni is proud to announce that the Matador Hearts for Matador Minds Alumni Scholarship campaign has surpassed its initial goal to raise $175,000 in support of student scholarships. The CSUN Alumni Board is grateful for the immense generosity shown by the CSUN community.

In an effort to make an even bigger impact on the lives of CSUN students, a stretch goal of $200,000 has been activated. The additional funds raised through this effort will go above and beyond in helping to endow CSUN Alumni Scholarships, ensuring that financial assistance for CSUN first-generation, graduate, and legacy students is available through these scholarships in perpetuity.

The Matador Hearts for Matador Minds Alumni Scholarship Campaign ends on March 26th, and we are currently 93% to our goal of raising $200,000! You can help CSUN students by supporting this campaign and spreading the word to your Matador friends and families.

During these unprecedented times, it is more important than ever to show our students support as they navigate the paths toward their degrees. Your donation to CSUN Alumni Scholarships can help provide the vital financial assistance that students need to focus on their studies.

Thank you for your support of this campaign and for your support of CSUN students!

Major Gift Announcement: Project GRAD LA Donates $146,000 to Alumni Scholarship Campaign

March 03, 2021

CSUN Alumni is honored to be the recipient of an incredibly generous gift on behalf of Project GRAD LA – a nonprofit that was dedicated to increasing the graduation rate of first-generation college students from the San Fernando Valley. This transformative $146,000 gift from Project GRAD will help ensure that CSUN Alumni Scholarships remain available to first-generation college students, providing them with the support and financial assistance they need to focus on completing their degrees.

"Project GRAD Los Angeles supported thousands of students to pursue their life dreams with higher education. The support for the Matador Hearts for Matador Minds campaign continues Project GRAD Los Angeles' support for students to pursue their dreams of educational and life success," said Project GRAD LA President and Chief Executive Officer Ford Roosevelt.

CSUN Alumni is excited to continue the momentum created by Project Grad’s gift. Donate today to the Matador Hearts for Matador Minds Alumni Scholarship Campaign and help ensure that scholarships exist in perpetuity for future generations of Matadors.

CSUN Alumni Board Giving Challenge

February 08, 2021

Announcing the CSUN Alumni Board Giving Challenge:

The CSUN Alumni Board of Directors is pleased and honored to put forward a $16,635 challenge to all alumni in support of our scholarship program. Every dollar will go towards endowing our 15 scholarships.

In normal times, scholarships are critical for many students. In light of the pandemic, the need for scholarships is greater than ever. Many students lost their jobs as businesses shut down depriving them of money for tuition, books, housing, food, and additional expenses for online learning.

We, the Matador community, can be supportive of our future Alumni by making a financial contribution to this campaign. Please join us by giving to our Matador Hearts for Matador Minds Alumni Scholarship Campaign. No donation is too small.

Your gift will help support and endow the CSUN Alumni's Graduate, First Generation, and Legacy scholarships. All three provide Matador students with additional financial support to help them remain focused on the path toward their degrees.

Accept the Alumni Board’s challenge and help us increase our impact on CSUN students.

Thank you fellow Matadors!

Sincerely,

CSUN Alumni Board of Directors
