5 Star: A CSUN Thesis Film

Our Story

With scholarship offers from every Division 1 school and every sports media outlet crowning him the next "Chosen One", high school basketball star Hakeem Hamilton is proving to have one of the most hyped careers in basketball history. But with the biggest game of his young career conflicting with the support of his younger sister, Hakeem struggles to make his own decisions under the shadow of his parents.

Our Goal

Our goal is to raise $35,000 in order to adequately produce our project from start to finish. Like CSUN alumni have done in the past, we intend on submitting our film to a wide variety of festivals across the country. As proud filmmakers from CSUN, we aim to give our university and this film the recognition it deserves.  

Your Donations

All donations will go towards the following:

Location (permits, insurance, transportation, etc.)

Casting (casting director, talent and extras, studio teacher, etc.)

Rentals (camera, audio, grip and electric, expendables, etc.)

Art (production design, wardrobe, hair and makeup, etc.) 

Catering and Craft Services (to feed our hardworking cast and crew!)

COVID Enforcement (PPE, cleaning supplies, testing, etc.)
