Dr. Shemmassian in his natural element as a teacher
Dr. Vahram Shemmassian took the reigns of the Armenian Studies Program at CSUN in 2006. He was already an assistant professor in the Dept. of Modern and Classical Languages and Literatures. Over the course of almost two decades, he has educated CSUN students from all backgrounds, and brought to the fore the beauty and importance of the Armenian Culture. On the occasion of his retirement, the CSUN Armenian Alumni Network (C.A.A.N.) wishes to honor him with the Dr. Vahram Shemmassian Endowed Scholarship. Our goal is to raise at least $30,000 to establish the endowed fund, and begin awarding the scholarship this year.
Above and below, some scenes from his time at CSUN, with students, colleagues, alumni, philanthropists and honored guests.
