Who are we? - Allow us to introduce ourselves
The 2023 CSUN Steel Bridge team comprises undergraduate engineering students under the ASCE Student Chapter. Our project consists of us designing, fabricating, and building a 1:10 scale model steel bridge that can withstand a load of 2500 lbs. Since the beginning of our journey of this project, our team has dedicated and sacrificed their time outside of their academic careers to build the most efficient bridge which can be assembled in the fastest time. We have grown together as a team of prospective engineers and essentially rebuilt our legacy from the ground up after the pandemic season by overcoming all the trials and tribulations to make this bridge together.
The combination of all our time and effort from our team and faculty advisors resulted in our team winning 1st place overall in our regional Student Steel Bridge Competition. Now that we've taken home the gold from regionals, it's time to take home the gold in the National Student Steel Bridge competition occurring on June 2nd & 3rd at the University of California San Diego.
We need help! - That's where you come in!
Since our regional competition was hosted on the CSUN university campus, expenses were not much of an issue. However, with the entire team traveling to UCSD and modifying our bridge to have a sharper edge over the other universities/colleges nationwide, we will require financial assistance. Our team consists of passionate, dedicated people who work for many hours out of their busy schedules to make this bridge project a reality, which shows in our standing in our regional competition.
With your donations and support, our financial obligations will be lifted and we will be able to focus on making CSUN proud and building a new legacy of the steel bridge competition.
