Our Crowdfunding Groups
The CSUN Science Learning Collaboratory is looking for sponsors for the annual ExplanaJam science contest. The ExplanaJam (bit.ly/csunexplanajam) provides a chance for K12 students in Los Angeles to win prizes by explaining science concepts. Students record videos of their original explanations and submit them to their teacher. Teachers submit 3 videos per class to be judged by University Faculty and other scientists.
Originally started during COVID, the ExplanaJam will be in its fourth year this May with hundreds of classes participating. The contest helps to reinforce the critical scientific practices of explaining natural phenomena and adds excitement to the end of the school year.
Our current funding through the California Science Project is limited, so we are seeking sponsors to be able to increase the size and number of the prizes (link to prizes). The judges all volunteer their time so donated money will got directly to prizes.
