The Matador PedalSports: Human Powered Vehicle team is an active mechanical engineering senior design project at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). Our organization’s mission is to promote the use of Human Powered Vehicles for daily transportation and recreation. Currently CSUN engineering students are conceptualizing a unique semi-electric recumbent trike for a senior design project. The intent of this project is to design and manufacture a human powered vehicle in eight months and then compete with other universities at the annual ASME e-Human Powered Vehicle Competition.
The 2022-2023 team attended the e-Human Powered Vehicle Competition (eHPVC) held in San Jose. We places first overall out of 6 teams and won the endurance race, best innovation and best fairing awards.
Our goal is to ensure that all students participating in the development of this year's edition are able to attend the competition toward the end of the spring semester. This competition marks the culmination of the knowledge acquired by each student during their academic journey. This is an opportunity to bid farewell to our students by giving them a chance to win big and showcase all of their hard work to peers from other universities.
