Do you remember the first time you were onstage? Do you remember all the rehearsals when you never thought it would be right? Can you recall that feeling of butterflies in your stomach and anticipation? Do you remember the costume you wore? For a large population of the San Fernando Valley, teenagers first experience on stage was at Teenage Drama Workshop on the campus of CSUN. We want to insure that students still have that opportunity to discover the joy of live performance!
For 66 summers, students ages 11-18, have participated in a six-week immersive Theatre program that changes their lives! Our goal is to teach not only theatre arts but the importance of ensemble and team work through our intensive classes and productions.
This summer we were able fund 25 full scholarships through the generosity of our donors. BUT we are already planning for next summer and want to insure that students who are passionate about the arts can attend TADW. Please take a moment and make a donation to help a student experience the joys (and hard work) of live theatre.
TADW is a safe and welcoming environment for students to develop communication skills, creative thinking and build self-confidence. Although we are teaching skills in their relation to theatre, these skills are life skills that can help them throughout their lives.
