Who We Are:
We are Matador Motorsports, CSUN's Formula SAE team, we design, build, and race a single seater formula-style race car against 100+ universities from around the world since 1988. Formula SAE is a collegiate design series created to prepare students for future employment as engineers. Here at CSUN, it is a capstone project for Mechanical Engineering majors. Students act as an engineering company designing, fabricating, testing, and competing a prototype vehicle. This in-depth and hands-on educational program develops the knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving abilities of engineering students by enabling them to draw upon their years of education to answer a complex, real-world design and manufacturing challenge. We attract the most hardworking, motivated, and results-oriented engineering students produced by CSUN. This is all thanks to donations from people like you, that we are able to build our car every year.
We competed at Michigan International Speedway against 120 other schools in May 2024. Our team placed 12th overall and 9th in Design Finals! Matador Motorsports has performed competitively throughout its history: 5th place overall in 2021, 7th in 2007 and 2017, and 6th in the 2018 Design Competition. Matador Motorsports is filled with passionate and driven individuals, all with the goal of making it to competition. We would not be able to do this project without the support of our friends, family, alumni, and dear sponsors. Our achievements in this year's competition have laid a strong foundation for our team to continue being successful.

Our goal of $30,000 will help us complete our car! Below is just a few examples of where we allocate your donations. As they help throughout every part of the process!
Chassis Manufacturing
To manufacture our chassis precisely we need to precisely cut tubes and jigs to weld. A strong, lightweight, and rigid chassis is the starting point of a successful race car!
Parts Manufacturing
We utilize our HAAS CNC machines to create a majority of our parts in house! With your contributions, we will be able to buy the needed stock to continue manufacturing our precise parts for our race car.
The resources necessary to design, manufacture, tune, and train to be competitive are immense. We hope to partner with you in this endeavor, as your investment will contribute to maintaining an educational program of the highest quality. Additionally, this program is run through the CSUN Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, making any and all cash or in-kind sponsorships charitable donations. With this in mind, we humbly ask your consideration of the sponsorship opportunities.
