"The White Lighter" - a CSUN TV Thesis Project

The White Lighter is a blend of punk rock and supernatural horror, continuing the urban legend of "The 27 Club". Legendary rockers like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain were rumored to possess a white cigarette lighter at the time of their deaths, leading the item to be regarded as cursed.

The story follows a queer rock band, Moonblood, as they discover their white lighter magically opens a window between the realms of the living and the dead. After their guitarist is taken captive by a vengeful spirit, the lifelong friends must set their egos aside to venture into the land of the dead. Rescuing her is only the first step, as they soon discover their guitarist has been possessed by evil...

This project marks the culmination of our four years in CSUN's Cinema & Television Arts baccalaureate degree. Using industry-grade equipment & software, this project will serve as our business card as we step out into the entertainment industry. Your contribution to our project can take us to the next level, helping out with costs such as special-effects makeup, location rentals, on-set meals, and much more than you can imagine.

After donating, feel free to reach out to our Showrunner's email to receive updates & photos from our exciting next few months of production: jake.hurst.425@my.csun.edu  We look forward to sharing our journey with you!
