Support CSUN's Kinesiology Department

About the Kinesiology Department (KIN)

Your gift -- of any amount -- will help us reach our funding goals to strengthen our students' success in the CSUN Department of Kinesiology.  We are at the forefront of the study of human movement for wellness and personal expression throughout the lifespan. Students and faculty work together to build community, strengthen personal wellness and inspire others to live their best lives. While the program continues to grow, financial concerns remain as obstacles to many of our students’ success.

MAKE AN IMPACT

This is where you come in. We are excited to launch giving opportunities within the Dean’s Circle to support student needs. We ask you to help by making a philanthropic, tax-deductible contribution. Your generous gift will help our department guide students to success, now and for years to come.

Equipment

All majors participate in exercise physiology labs where they learn skills from the minute details of assessing body composition with Skinfold Calipers to coaching K-12 students through Applied Fitness and service-learning courses as they make leaps and bounds which call for an exercise mat to be at the ready. Your support can provide items like or similar to this and more for our deserving students.

Physical Education

Your generosity can provide supplies for learning activities for our PE Teacher Education program. Your gift can help the department purchase items such as Spike ball games, pop-up soccer goals, pinnies, playground balls, ball carts, mats, or mat transporters. All of this equipment helps our future teachers learn to motivate and inspire children and teens in grades K-12 to develop physical activity as a lifelong habit.

Equipment Repair

Some equipment used by students requires high maintenance. For example, they use a motion capture system for biomechanics, sports performance and ergonomics which allows them to learn about human movement metrics and engage in biomechanics research. Funding for equipment like this helps students truly understand the benefits, functions, and limits of physical activity in the human body.
