Judas Kiss

Judas Kiss is  a short drama film that tackles serious subject matter, exploring love, romance, sexuality, human complexity, and self-discovery for a class of immigrants and minorities seeking love amidst tough life circumstances. The core of the story addresses how poverty leads to abuse and exploitation through a love story within the LGBTQ+ community, seen from a unique angle.

Synopsis

The story follows the emotional and tumultuous relationship between Leila and Sarah, set against the backdrop of Leila's abusive marriage to Ali, who forces Leila to extort lesbian women. Bearing visible signs of abuse, Leila reluctantly meets Sara, who tries to cheer her up and rekindle their romance. They share a passionate moment together, but their happiness is overshadowed by Leila's oppressive home life and financial struggles. Leila confesses to Sara her exhaustion and disillusionment with the American dream, revealing her longing to escape her abusive husband and dire circumstances. Sara, ever supportive, offers financial help for Leila to break free. After Sara is financially scammed and does not hear back from Leila for days, she arrives at Leila's empty, abandoned apartment.

Our Mission

Our original and thought-provoking story, inspired by a true event, explores the love between two marginalized Middle-Eastern lesbian and bisexual women. This is a love story between two young women who embarked on a challenging journey to migrate and live their American Dream as artists and their path crosses when our successful character, Sara, who made her dream come through, falls for Leila whose the struggling artist and this is where a complex calashes happens; at the crossroads to embrace love and depart, or linger in familial ties and enduring heartache.

Our production team aims to give voice to the unheard and spark genuine, productive conversations through the lens of compassion and diversity. This short film seeks to portray an incredible, untold story of love between two women that takes a dark turn into abuse and exploitation of people of color in a small, minority community. This film is not a stereotype that merely portrays the challenges of gay minority individuals but instead shows the complexity of human emotions and a relationship between two female lovers within a restricted and judgmental Middle-Eastern community. In addition, how an abusive partner and poverty transform a love story into a scam.

Our goal is to create an incredible short film with talented  individuals that could potentially be developed into a feature film. For any question or concern please contact us at: judaskissfilm@gmail.com.
