What's it about?
In Side Quest, we follow Earl, a recently fired man, and Buck, his best friend and roommate who drags him into a crazy adventure. It starts off simply with Buck wanting to return a package that was delivered to the wrong address, but Earl soon realizes that once you enter the world of unemployment, it’s full of absurdity, video game powers, and quests. The two go on a classic RPG-style quest, ending with fighting Hermes, a literal god, and come out of it with a deeper appreciation for their friendship. It’s a story about realizing your friends and loved ones are the true treasure in your life, and not wasting it away on a 9-5
A note from our showrunner...
At its core, this project is meant to show how important it is to be there for your friends and loved ones over things that won’t matter in the long run like working a 9-5. Growing up, my father worked tirelessly to provide for my mom and me, and would constantly be coming home late. I appreciate everything he did for us, but the double-edged sword was I wouldn’t be able to spend as much time as I’d like to with him. This story means even more to me because its message revolves around being there for your loved ones above all else.
