Our Mission

The Mock Trial Team at California State University, Northridge empowers students through hands-on learning modeled in a courtroom setting.

We believe in:

  • Equal access to legal training
  • Building confidence in public speaking
  • Creating pathways to law school and leadership opportunities in the community

As a public university team, we reflect the diversity and resilience of California as we represent CSUN nationally through the American Mock Trial Association competitions.

With your help, we're leveling the playing field for the next generation of professionals. Through this experience, the CSUN Mock Trial students develop skills in:

  • Legal reasoning & public speaking
  • Team collaboration
  • Civic engagement
  • Critical thinking under pressure

Past successes include:

  • Two students from the 2024-2025 season received individualized awards - one for best witness and one for best attorney - at the Claremont Regional Tournament
  • The CSUN Mock Trial Team overall wins in each of the past three years has significantly increased
  • Many of our graduating students went on to law/graduate school
