The Mission

The NSBE chapter at California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is a vibrant community of passionate Black engineers and STEM students dedicated to academic excellence and professional success. For our members, the NSBE 52nd Annual Convention is the pinnacle of the year. This isn't just a conference; it’s a global stage where our students transform from scholars into industry-ready professionals and the culturally responsible leaders our communities need.

The Opportunity: A National Launchpad

While regional conferences offer great local networking, the National Convention in Baltimore, MD (March 18–22, 2026) operates on a massive scale. Attending will give our CSUN students direct access to:

• The World’s Largest STEM Career Fair: With over 300 top-tier companies (such as Boeing, Google, Merck, and NASA) and 16,000+ attendees, our members will have the chance to secure life-changing internships and full-time positions on the spot.
• "Advancing S.T.E.M." Programming: Our students will engage with the four pillars of this year's theme: Shaping the future of AI and green tech, Transforming communities through advocacy, Empowering excellence via professional certifications, and Mobilizing innovation.
• Competitions & Certifications: Beyond networking, our members will compete in technical competitions and earn industry-recognized certifications (AWS, Python, FE/PE prep) that provide the competitive edge needed in today’s job market.

Last year, we faced the difficult reality of leaving talented students behind due to the high costs of cross-country travel and lodging.
