This documentary follows Robert’s journey as an artist deeply rooted in the neighborhoods he paints, exploring how his murals unite people, honor shared histories, and inspire pride. Through collaboration and storytelling, his art becomes a bridge, strengthening community bonds and transforming public space into a place of belonging.

Mark Gomez is a Director/Cinematographer whose work has a dedication for community and activism. Based in Los Angeles, CA, Mark is a relentless collaborator who thrives in the chaos of production while believing that every frame is an opportunity to speak to the audience. Whether behind the monitor or viewfinder, Mark is dedicated to intersecting the technical precision and emotional truth, using the camera to do more than just record and display the art of visual empathy.
Marlene Clara

Marlene Clara is a documentary filmmaker with experience in independent films, documentaries, and film festivals. She has showcased her first documentary feature, where she served as producer and camera operator, and co-created the Inland Empire’s first women’s film festival. Her work has been recognized at local festivals, reflecting her commitment to storytelling and community impact.Her primary focus is bringing projects to life from development through completion.
Ryan Huizar

Ryan Huizar is a director and cinematographer from Santa Monica, California, born and raised. For this thesis film, he serves as Director of Photography and Director, shaping the visual language and overall creative vision of the project. Ryan is passionate about blending cinematic storytelling with raw authenticity, using composition, lighting, and movement to elevate each frame. Outside of thesis work, he focuses on independent film projects, music-driven visual storytelling, and creative collaborations that bridge culture, style, and sound.
Marlon Melgar

Born in the San Fernando Valley and living in the Greater Los Angeles Area for over 30 years. A love for the city of LA and a passion to show the majesty of Los Angeles. A budding Sound designer and Mixer, with this being the very first project. Can manage microphones, mixing equipment, and recording devices, adapting to changing environments and production challenges, along with having a strong ear for detail in bringing authenticity and emotional depth to every scene.
Chad Carpenter

Chad has been fascinated by the building blocks of storytelling since he first began creating stop-motion LEGO movies and short films in high school. While he has gained significant experience on set as a Director and Director of Photography, he discovered that his true calling is in the edit suite. Chad spends his free time immersed in the post-production process, editing everything from YouTube content to deeply personal passion projects. This constant dedication to the craft has refined his eye for pacing, rhythm, and narrative flow. Chad is working toward a career as an Assistant Editor, with the ultimate goal of becoming a Lead Editor and shaping impactful stories from the ground up.
Justin Fernandez

My name is Justin Fernandez, and I am the editor of Mr. Murale. I am currently working on creating a personal autobiographical portrait intended to inspire individuals with developmental disabilities, like myself, to believe that they can achieve anything they set their minds to.
