CSUN University Ambassadors
Who are the University Ambassadors?
Guest Relations and Campus Tours oversee the University Ambassadors program, a diverse group of student leaders who volunteer their time to facilitate campus tours, host special events and represent our university in a manner that exemplifies campus pride and professionalism.
University Ambassadors are responsible for a number of duties, including:
- Providing daily campus tours to prospective students, families, parents, and school groups ranging from elementary school to community college levels
- Cohosting university events, such as CSUN Open House, Destination CSUN, and Admitted Matadors Day
- Hosting their yearly philanthropy event, Cuddle N Read where the Ambassadors host a local elementary school's first grade students at CSUN and provide them with career readiness workshops, campus tours, and a reading corner activity. This event is intended to promote literacy and higher education to a population of students who will potentially attend college as future first-generation college students.
- Honoring faculty and staff members who have made a difference in the academic career of a University Ambassador at the annual Polished Apple Award Ceremony.
- Promoting CSUN as a steppingstone to a brighter future.
Your Donation:
- Busses and Transportation
- Ambassadors provide busses and transportation for the Cuddle N Read program. In the past we've hosted approximately 60-120 total first graders and have spent about $2,000 in busses and transportation
- Plaques and Awards
- To show appreciation to CSUN faculty and staff members, each student's nominee receives a plaque at the annual Polished Apple Awards. Each plaque is about $30. We average approximately 7-12 nominees a year.
- Venues
- To host our annual events, we must book rooms and venues to host our guest. In the past we've rented rooms from the University Student Union, Campus Library, and The Orchard Conference Center. Depending on location, the most we've needed for a room/venue is approximately $1,200.
- Food/Drinks
- To provide a welcoming and hospitable environment, we like to provide guest with food and drink options for guests to partake in during the welcoming sessions for our events.
- Additional Fees
- There are small details that go into each of our events such as set-up, decor, arts and crafts materials, and giveaways for guests and ambassadors alike.
