The Mission

The NSBE chapter at CSUN is a community of passionate Black Engineers and STEM students who strive for academic excellence and success in the professional world. NSBE's mission statement to," increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally, and positively impact the community." We seek out every possible experience that helps our club members that could help better prepare them for their bright futures. This fall we are lucky to have an opportunity present itself in Southern California.

The Opportunity

The NSBE Fall Region 6 Conference (FRC) will be located at the Los Angeles Marriot from October 23-25, 2026. The FRC will bring undergraduate, graduate, and working professionals for 3 days of networking, career opportunities and professional development. Having our chapter attending will give our members access to:

Regional Career Fair:

Our members will be able to meet with recruiters, interview for internships, and build rapport with companies who are looking for rising black engineers and stem students.

Professional Development Workshops:

Sessions on resume building and technical interviews will help better our members who will need to stand out in such a competitive job market. 

Competitions:

Our members will also be able to represent CSUN at the Academic TechBowl, Technical Research Exhibition, Elevator Pitch Competition, and Debate Competition. This will put their knowledge and communication skills to the plate against peers from other schools and states. 

Our Goal : No Engineer Left Behind

Having such a major conference so close to home is such a rare and inviitng opportunity and we want every eligible member to take full advantage of it. Even through we don't have to travel out of our county the costs of registration, lodging and transportation can make it hard for many students to attend. We are hoping to make these financial barriers to not stand in the way of our futures. Your donation will directly invest in the future of CSUN's Black engineers and stem students. By supporting us you will be giving students a helping hand with landing an internship, build a network of black professionals, and represent CSUN on the regional stage.
