Love Language - Senior Thesis Film

Love Language is a student short film about an estranged Chinese American daughter translating her non-english speaking father's memoir and through the process beginning to understand the man she never truly knew. Language is the fundamental medium in which emotions and love is communicated, but what if that is not truly the case? Our goal with Love Language is to show that love is more than the words we say, and the languages we speak, it is the actions we commit to each other, intentionally or not. More importantly this film aims to invoke a feeling of inner shift. What does it feel like to finally understand the person you thought you never could understand?
