A little about JASK Week.
Every year, Deaf CSUNians hosts a Deaf awareness event entitled “JASK Week” which is an acronym for “Just Ask” Deaf CSUNians. This event helps to spread awareness about American Sign Language, Deaf History and Deaf Culture to students and staff within our CSUN learning community. This event originated in 1998 and has continued throughout the years to build a bridge between the Deaf and Hearing worlds.
We strive to make JASK Week a free event every year. This year, we are asking friends and alumni to donate to help us make this week-long event happen. All donations to this page will help keep JASK Week free for all! The cool thing is that your donation is tax-deductible and you will receive an email with the tax information on your receipt.
Thank you in advance if you are able to donate.
A little about Deaf CSUNians
The Deaf CSUNians club was formed in 1980 by student leaders at California State University, Northridge. With 215 deaf and 30 hearing members, it represents the largest group of deaf students to be found at any state university or college in the United States. The Deaf CSUNians is one of the most active organizations on the CSUN campus. It serves deaf students and the deaf community in Southern California by sponsoring social and educational events, and by supporting political action on behalf of deaf people throughout the United States. The Deaf CSUNians has made college life more enjoyable and fostered mutual understanding between deaf and hearing students throughout its 40 year history.
