WHO IS CSUN ISA?

The Iranian Student Association (ISA) is a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating and sharing Iranian culture at CSUN. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for students to connect with Iranian heritage, experience Persian traditions, and foster cross-cultural understanding on campus. Established with a focus on cultural unity and inclusivity, CSUN ISA is proud to bring the beauty of Iranian customs to the broader community.

WHAT IS NOWRUZ?

Nowruz, meaning “New Day,” is the Persian New Year and one of the oldest festivals in the world, celebrated by millions globally. This celebration marks the start of spring and is a time for joy, renewal, and connecting with family and friends. At CSUN, our Nowruz celebration includes Persian music, dance, delicious food, and beautiful ceremonies, allowing all members of the community to experience the vibrant aspects of Persian culture.

Join us as we bring together students, faculty, and local community members in a colorful and meaningful celebration of Nowruz on campus!

What We Do Year-Round
In addition to our annual Nowruz festivities, ISA hosts regular meetings, cultural events, and workshops throughout the academic year that give students opportunities to learn, engage, and celebrate together. These events further our mission to create a supportive, culturally rich environment on campus.

YOUR DONATION

With your support, we can make Nowruz and our other events throughout the year meaningful and memorable. 

Depending on the funds raised, here’s how your donation will be used:

• Venue Rental: To accommodate all attendees, we’ll rent a spacious venue on campus where we can welcome the CSUN community.
• Cultural Performances: Showcasing live Persian music and traditional dance with talented artists. We also hope to raise enough funds to organize a dance workshop, where an instructor will teach students a traditional Persian dance to perform during Nowruz.
• Entertainment Activities: Fun and engaging experiences for all ages, including face painting, egg painting, Persian calligraphy, a photo booth, storytelling, and puppet shows.
• Decorations: To make the event visually engaging, we’ll decorate the space with vibrant, traditional Persian decor and a Haft-Seen table—a symbolic arrangement for Nowruz.
• Food and Refreshments: Attendees will enjoy Persian delicacies, offering a taste of Iran’s diverse and delicious cuisine.
• Promotions and Outreach: Flyers, banners, and online campaigns will help us spread the word about Nowruz and our regular events.
• Support for Year-Round Meetings and Activities: Funds will also cover expenses for ISA’s regular cultural gatherings, workshops, and social events, enhancing the student experience all year long.
• Miscellaneous Needs: Additional resources for photography, filming, volunteer refreshments, and supplies to ensure our events run smoothly.
