Sexual Assault Awareness Month: 30 Hours for 30 Days
UPDATE: RESPONSE TO COVID-19
StrengthUnited is committed to maintaining the operation of our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline throughout this health crisis. Please see our Campaign Updates for additional information, and thank you for helping us keep this important resource available at such a challenging time.
Stand with Survivors and help stop sexual violence during Sexual Assault Awareness Month in April. Support StrengthUnited's 30 Hours for 30 Days campaign, and help us raise funds to operate our 24-Hour Crisis Hotline for 30 hours - one hour representing each day of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Sexual assault is a serious and widespread problem. According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, one in three women and one in six men in the United States experienced some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime. Last year, 21% of the callers to StrengthUnited's 24-Hour Hotline, more than 300 callers, were seeking help in a Sexual Assault or Abuse situation, and StrengthUnited saw more than 650 clients in person who were victims of sexual violence, abuse, or stalking.
Strength United's Crisis Hotline is available 24 Hours a Day, Seven Days a Week, 365 Days a Year
(For those in immediate danger, call 911)
Our Hotline serves nearly 1,500 clients each year, providing urgent assistance and resources to adults, children, and families in crisis in the San Fernando and Santa Clarita Valleys. To keep the Hotline fully staffed, we need 3 Advocates, a Supervisor, and a Hotline Coordinator – which adds up to more than $700 for a 6-hour shift. The Hotline is a critical community resource, and a key part of Strength United's work. Your gift will let us be there when someone you know needs us most!
